The Michigan History Center, a division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, operates 12 museums located across the state of Michigan. Each covering a specific time period in the state’s history. Each summer the Center hires at least 2 individuals per site to work as interpreters of the state’s diverse history.
Site Interpreter - 8 Locations in the Lower Peninsula; 4 locations in the Upper Peninsula
Sites range from Pre-historic archaeological sites, to military forts, a town site, several historic homes and lighthouses. Applicants primary focus at each site is to give tours; host the site; assist with public events; care for collections and lite house keeping. Job is open to anyone 18 years of age with a valid drivers license. Usually runs mid-May to mid-August. Any major is welcome.
