What makes Job Pursuit unique?
Job Pursuit allows one-on-one personal contact with students through a sit-down lunch and networking opportunity and a small career-fair “meet and greet” session in the afternoon. Employers will be provided space to conduct interviews. Those employers that cannot conduct official screening interviews are encouraged to conduct mock interviews to help prepare students. You will have the opportunity to interact with up to 100 students from Michigan’s top private colleges.
Job Pursuit is a unique opportunity that not only helps employers and students to connect but helps students to learn from the experience. Students will be learning more about networking, professional communication, and interviewing. Employers at Job Pursuit will have an impact on the professional future of students.
Am I Expected to interview at job pursuit?
If this fits your recruiting process, we strongly encourage you to interview students. This is a part of the experience that colleges “sell” to students. Even if your recruiting process does not allow you to interview at the event, this can be a time to spend with students to coach them on your application process.
Why should we participate in Job Pursuit?
The registration fee includes a lunch and networking session an afternoon career fair and interviews. The cost is $225 ($75 for non-profits) for two representatives and $25 for each additional rep. It is timely and convenient, centrally located in Lansing and gives you an opportunity to meet highly qualified students from small private institutions in Michigan.
WHAT TYPES OF EMPLOYERS CAN PARTICIPATE?
Professional career and internship positions are preferred at the event. We will not approve companies with commission-only, door-to-door sales, or positions that pay based on recruiting others.
In addition, only 5 financial companies will be approved for the event.
